What is Facebook Insights, and How Will it Do Wonderful Things for My Business?

Facebook offers advertisers the most bang for their buck — quite literally.

The social media giant delivers the goods through Facebook Insights, a tool that educates advertisers about not only their customers and their preferences, but, more importantly, how those same customers interact with an advertisers’ business page.

Facebook Insights allows merchants the ability to attract not only customers — but desirable customers — with a laser-target focus. This tool helps merchants maximize the Return-on-Investment (ROI) on their Facebook ad campaigns.

Perhaps you remember a thing called Facebook Analytics and wonder where it went?

Facebook Insights, which is a more precise methodology, replaced Facebook Analytics in 2021.

What is Facebook Insights?

To tell it more accurately, Facebook Insights helps you, the advertiser, more fully understand the demographics of your customer base.

Among only some of the many Insights provided:

• The number of people who saw your content at least once.

• The number of times your content was on screen.

• The age and gender distribution of the audience.

• The cities where this audience is concentrated.

• The number of people who saw your content at least once

• The number of reactions, comments, shares and clicks that your post receives

• The number of new followers minus the number of old followers

Why does any of this matter?

Facebook collects data about its users to provide page insights to its advertisers.

This data increases the ROI on Facebook advertising and helps Facebook display the content its users find the most relevant and interesting.

Facebook Insights is located within the Professional Dashboard on desktop and on mobile under the Insights Tab.

You may also go there directly by entering facebook.com/ads/audience-insights in your browser.

Now That You’ve Found Facebook Insights, the Next Logical Question is….

How do I use Facebook Insights?

First, you need to choose your seed audience. In other words, you can choose everyone on Facebook. You can apply multiple filters to narrow down your audience. Or you can simply choose people who like your Facebook page.

You may segment your chosen audience based on demographics, page likes, location, interests, connections, and recent platform activity.

Insights also offers graphs that tell you whether your ad campaign and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) are effective.

For the businessman or businesswoman with any advertising budget, whether frugal or extravagant, Facebook Insights offers the best investment with the best rewards.
